THE PROJECT
We are building a global database of habitat affiliation of naturalized and invasive alien plants in their native and introduced ranges. Moreover, we are collecting data on naturalized and invasive plants in protected areas worldwide. This data will allow to test a new generation of hypotheses which aim to explain the variation in invasions across species, regions and biomes.
Overall, we have four main objectives:
DESCRIBE THE REGIONAL PATTERNS IN HABITAT INVASIONS
DESCRIBE THE GLOBAL PATTERNS OF PLANT INVASIONS IN PROTECTED AREAS
FULLY CAPTURE THE CONTEXT-DEPENDENCE OF INVASIONS
CONTRIBUTING TO KNOWLEDGE BASE OF PLANT INVASIONS
